The History Of The Wormhole.

Those Good Old Days !.
In the beginning the system consisted of one 220 megahertz ICOM repeater linked to three cross band KENWOOD radios to provide three two meter inputs to the system. It was very hard for many repeater hoppers to understand how they could be talking on a simplex frequency and be coming out on two other simplex frequencies. That's when someone said ? That is how a worm hole works ?, Yea ! , Now we have a name for the club ! The System Has Grown Up A Lot Since.
We now have two repeaters on line 24 hours a day seven days a week 365 days a year. The repeater is located in St. Petersburg, Florida and is maintained by Dee N4GD
(Who Knows ?)

We Also Do SSTV !

Many operators in the Wormhole are equipped to run SSTV and are more than glad to exchange pictures with you ! If you own a computer and want to experience this cheap but outstanding upgrade for your station just ask a Worm !

Club Meetings
The Club meets the first Saturday of the month and has a annual Hamfest / Picnic / Field day and helps out with many social activities.
Club meetings are now being held at Lake Seminole Park, shelter #1, located at 10015 Park Boulevard. That is on the North side of Park Boulevard between Pinellas Park and Seminole. Follow the signs to shelter #1. Talk-in on the Wormhole 146.850 repeater. A beautiful place and the hopefully the weather will be nice. We will take advantage of the cooking facilities with an after-the-meeting Social and hotdog luncheon. Listen to the repeater for any last minute meeting changes caused by weather or other unforeseen conditions. We will fall back to the Seminole Chamber of Commerce located at 8400 113th Street if the need arises. That is seven blocks North of Park Blvd on the West side of 113th. Bring your appetite. .
